Bus
For those coming from the Midwest, one can catch a non-stop Megabus from Chicago, Milwaukee and other regional cities. Tickets cost as low as $1 (but averaging between $20 and $40) and the bus drops you off either on the UofM campus or downtown (with a short bus ride or taxi to campus).
Flying
Attendees can fly into the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport (MSP). Sun Country is the local budget airline.
Transportation
from the airport:
Taxi:
Appoximately $25 -- Shuttle:
Approx. $16 (Super Shuttle)
Light Rail / Bus:
$1.50 ($2 in rush hour) - Take the light rail from the airport toward
downtown. Exit at the Metrodome stop. Take the #3, 16, or 50 buses on
4th street (same side of 4th as the lightrail station) heading toward
St. Paul/University. This will take you within two blocks of the three hotels near campus. (For more info, see the Twin Cities Metro Transit Quick Trip Planner.) Hotels most likely offer a shuttle service that will bring you to the conference location.
The U of M's official maps. (disorientation guides coming soon...)
We will provide breakfast and lunch for participants on all three days, appetizers Friday evening, and dinner Saturday.
But if you would like to explore, check out this guide to local restaurants.
Lodging
There are three hotels close to the conference location:
Holiday Inn Metrodome
Radisson
Day’s Inn (University)
There was a block of room reserved at the Day’s Inn but this offer has expired. However, we have heard that people are finding cheap rooms via online searches.
Room sharing: If you would like us to put you in contact with other conference attendees for the purpose of sharing a hotel room, please contact us (comradmn@gmail.com) and we can help arange this.
Crash with a graduate student: If you would like to stay with a graduate student while in town that is also an option. Please let us know, and we can make arrangements for you.
